Anamalai wildlife sanctuary is located in the sprawling Western Ghats region of Anaimalai Hills at about 90 Km from Coimbatore. It's a958-sq.km sanctuaryin which 108-sq.km is the core area of the park located close to Pollachi. It was originally established as Anaimalai Wildlife Sanctuary then renamed as Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary. The entire region of sanctuary is comprised of three unique areas of Karian Shola, Grass Hill and Manjampatty Valley.

This park is one of the spectacular locations to explore the natural wildness and witness some of the rare species, flora and fauna. In 2008 this sanctuary is announced as the Tiger Reserve to protect our national animal.
